He will be honored at this year’s Killer Nashville Writers’ Conference October 31 at the Omni Nashville Hotel.Tanenbaum shares with John Seigenthaler an equally distinguished career in law, politics and writing. His tireless hunt for truth and justice has remained a constant thread throughout his life.After receiving his law degree from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley, he was an Assistant District Attorney in New York County, where he ran the Homicide Bureau, served as Chief of the Criminal Courts, and was in charge of the D.A.’s legal staff training program. One of the most successful prosecuting attorneys, he never lost a felony trial and convicted hundreds of violent criminals as the homicide bureau chief for the New York D.A.’s Office.He was later appointed Deputy Chief Counsel for the Congressional committee investigations into the assassinations of President John F.
