Interrogation

I never liked those shoes. Yeah, they were pretty. But they cost too much. I bought them at a charity auction eight years ago. Some event to help the homeless. I wore them twice, to my sister’s wedding and my mother’s funeral. I didn’t want to sell or donate them. You never know when you’ll need a pair of heels, right?

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not confessing to anything. I’m just letting you know I knew the shoes were here, in my home, in a box at the bottom of my closet. I never thought they would be deadly.
